New Athlete Registration

The Athletic Department at the Moon Area School District now hosts their Pre-Participation Athletic Forms (PIAA CIPPE) online with Student Central. This digital platform will allow you, and your student(s), to complete and access athletic forms via computer, tablet, or mobile phone. It is HIPAA, COPPA and FERPA compliant. For additional help please refer to the video tutorial or the one-page help-guide below.

Athletes cannot participate in sports until ALL digital forms are complete and approved unless otherwise specified by your school.
Forms will be valid for the entire school year for which they are filled out, with the exception of the physical exam. All sports physical exams MUST be completed on or after May 1st and are valid until April 30th of the following year as per PIAA policy. Completing and having your Pre-Participation Registration Forms accepted by the athletic department does NOT guarantee you have made the team.

Account Linking Assistance (Student & Parent)

BigTeams Student Central requires that both a student and parent account exist in order for pre-participation form requirements to be completed. This guide is designed to help users link accounts.

Before getting started, BigTeams recommends that students send the linking request to their parent first. However, both accounts have access to send/receive these linking requests.

PIAA CIPPE Section 7: Re-Certification

If your student has participated in a prior season’s sport, and is now participating in a new seasonal sport, the Section 7: Recertification by Parent/Guardian form will appear in your athletes Student Central account. Click on the links below for instructions on how to complete this form:

Concussion Baseline Testing

Baseline concussion testing for Moon Area Student Athletes will be conducted ideally during their 7th, 9th and 11th grade years.  A baseline test is considered valid for at least two years and once this procedure is fully in place, it will allow us to more easily facilitate who needs to be tested.  If a student comes out for a program for the first time and is not in these grades, they will immediately be tested, regardless of grade, and then follow the above protocol.    

Coaches and athletes will be clearly told that to participate in practice the first day of the season, they must have a current baseline on file or they will not be permitted to practice or play until the baseline test is completed.  If students sign up to participate over the summer or once school starts, the same procedure will be in place.
