Moon Tigers defeated Chartiers Valley at home by a score of 6-5. All the offense was early in this game as Char Valley scored 4 runs in the first but Moon responded with 4 of its own in the bottom of the first. Angelo Fachet hit a solo homer to get things started and then Thad Longwell and Connor Kunkle each doubled making it a 4-2 game. Andrew Cross then belted a two run homer to tie the game at 4. Both pitching staffs did well to hold the game to 5-5 until the bottom of the sixth when Savario Vandetti scored on a passed ball to give the Tigers the lead. Chris Sandor pitched 3 ⅓ innings of scoreless ball who followed Nate Webers 2 ⅓ of scoreless. The Tigers are now 3-2 in section 2 5A and 3-5 overall. Char Valley is now 2-5 in section 2 5A.
