Moon Area Girls Rugby traveled to Lancaster to take on defending state champion Knightmare.

Moon Area struggled to find their way through the defense early in the match as Knightmare was very active and skilled in defense.  However ball movement saw the ball out to the wing to see Taylor Bradley dance through mutliple defenders to score.  Avery Merklin converted the kick.

A penalty at midfield saw Emily Wright kick the ball 50m downfield.  A clever lineout move saw Maya Miller with the ball and she scores in the corner.

Lineout play again sees the ball down to Wright and openside flanker Ava Steed runs onto the ball and she scores, Merklin makes the kick again.

Similar play off a scrum sees Wright connect with Freshman fullback Jayla Rugani and she scores her first varsity try, Merklin again converts.

Emily Wright then takes the ball herself and offloads to a supporting Ava Steed who scores her last try.  Merklin is automatic today, and converts again.

On the ensuing kick-off, Sophomore Ella Arnold makes a spectacular 70m run defeating multiple defenders, but is caught short of the try line, Shiri Kurdatullaev who was supporting the whole way dives over for the score.  Merklin converts, and that reaches the mercy rule.
